This position offers you a unique opportunity to be involved in both delivering high quality aseptic services and providing clinical pharmacy services to cancer patients. As a Specialist Cancer Care Pharmacist, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting patients undergoing treatment in West Lothian.

About the Role

This post is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist looking to join the Cancer Pharmacy Team at St John’s hospital and be involved in both the clinical and aseptic aspects of the safe delivery of Systemic Anti Cancer Treatment to patients in West Lothian. You’ll:

  • Act as Deputy Accountable Pharmacist for the Aseptic Unit and will have a specialist focus on supporting delivery of systemic anti cancer treatment as well as expansion into clinical trials
  • Be part of a Band 7 program that provides a breadth of training and experience across cancer services.
  • Collaborate closely with a highly supportive haematology and oncology pharmacy team, committed to innovation and the development of cancer services.
  • Engage with an exciting pipeline of new treatments and participate in clinical trials, helping to shape the future of cancer care.
  • Benefit from opportunities for service improvement, independent prescribing training, and other personal and professional development initiatives.

About you

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent) and General Pharmaceutical Council ( GPhC) registration.
  • Completion of or have equivalent competence mapped to the RPS post-registration foundation pharmacist curriculum .
  • A commitment to improving patient care through pro-active, evidence-based pharmaceutical services.
  • Post registration experience in aseptic services. Further training and support will be provided
  • Experience in influencing prescribing practices and working in a patient-focused environment.
  • Cancer experience is desirable but not essential—training and support will be provided.
