Job summary

Smile Dental Centre in Basildon is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced GDC-registered Specialist Periodontist to join our team on a part-time basis. The role focuses on developing a growing specialist periodontal referral service and building relationships with local dental practices across Basildon and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive periodontal care, including diagnostic assessments, non-surgical and surgical treatments, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• GDC registered as a Specialist in Periodontics.
• Experience managing a broad range of periodontal conditions.
• Excellent clinical, communication and patient-management skills.
• Enjoys working collaboratively with general dentists and other dental professionals.
• Interested in developing relationships with referring practices and growing a specialist referral service.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist periodontal examinations, diagnosis and treatment.
• Management of periodontal disease, including complex cases.
• Non-surgical and surgical periodontal treatment as appropriate to training and scope.
• Periodontal maintenance and supportive periodontal care.
• Assessment and management of patients referred by external dental practices.
• Collaborative treatment planning and communication with referring dentists.
• Patient education, preventive advice and long-term periodontal care.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records and adherence to professional standards.

About the Role

Smile Dental Centre in Basildon areseeking an enthusiastic and experienced GDC-registered Specialist Periodontist to join our team and play a key role in developing and growing our specialist periodontal service. This position is offered on a part-time basis with flexibility on days and hours.

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician who wants to develop their clinical practice, build professional relationships and contribute to the growth of a specialist referral service.

The successful candidate willgrow a dedicated periodontal referral service, welcoming referrals from general dental practitioners and other dental practices across Basildon, Essex and the surrounding areas. Theywill have the opportunity to help develop this service, build relationships with local dental practices and establish a strong reputation for specialist periodontal care.

We are keen to create a trusted referral pathway for patients requiring specialist periodontal assessment and treatment, while working collaboratively with referring dentists to ensure continuity of care.

This role would suit a specialist who is passionate about periodontics and interested in helping to develop a growing referral base, with the potential to expand the service over time.
