Job description

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for you to become part of the Perinatal Mental Health Team in the North East Lincolnshire locality. We are looking for a dynamic, eager, and passionate individual to join our specialist service, offering assessment and a wide range of interventions to support mothers experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues.

Main duties of the job

Your day-to-day activities will include providing specialist assessments and early identification of mental health issues using NICE guidelines, with early referrals to mental health services when required. You will coordinate our duty system on a rolling rota and implement early interventions using a biopsychosocial approach, developing individualized care plans for mental health management during the antenatal, labor, and postnatal periods, including mental health birth plans.

There will be opportunities to contribute to the development and delivery of training to professionals involved in perinatal care, while being supported in your own development and training.

The postholder is expected to be creative and innovative in developing a bespoke service for families in North East Lincolnshire, with support from the Regional Hub.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Part III or 13 of NMC registration
• Degree in Mental Health Nursing, Social Care, or Occupational Therapy
• Post-registration diploma or equivalent experience demonstrating advanced practice
• Experience mentoring pre-registration students
• Working towards Band 5 qualification with a 12-month induction/preceptorship commitment
• Evidence of CPD or postgraduate study at an advanced level
• Leadership training or experience

Knowledge

• CPD relevant to clinical area at a specialist level
• Development and impact of specialist practice skills
• User/carer involvement/support
• Knowledge of Trust policies and procedures

Experience

• Conducting mental health/psycho-social and risk assessments
