Job summary

The Hounslow Speech and Language Therapy Team is seeking a passionate and experienced therapist to join as our Lead for Dysphagia. The post emphasises autonomous care for babies, children and young people with dysphagia, with a small caseload of preschool children with complex needs.

The role sits within a large, well-integrated team committed to staff development, supervision and ongoing CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Significant dysphagia experience with babies, children and young people.
• Ability to work autonomously within a supportive multidisciplinary service.
• Experience in supervision/training of staff is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead for Dysphagia within the Hounslow SLT service.
• Provide assessment and management of dysphagia across pediatric age groups.
• Support service development and staff supervision.

Hounslow Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service is a large well integrated team. We are committed to supporting staff in developing their skills and expertise. We offer a comprehensive supervision and appraisal structure, peer support and both internal and external CPD opportunities.

In support of the above the role includes the opportunity to be involved in training and supervision of staff as well as service development. The senior leadership team works closely together to continue to shape and develop the service, alongside other leads in Children’s Therapy Services e.g. physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
