Overview

An exciting opportunity for a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy team within our Greenwich Children's Integrated Therapy Service.

The post provides specialist physiotherapy assessment and intervention to children aged 0 - 25 years, within the Royal borough of Greenwich, and will be a resource for their families and carers across all settings. Greenwich offers an exciting all round employment experience for both personal and professional development.

The post encompasses a wide range of assessment and intervention experiences across the diverse range of physiotherapy needs within a community setting. You will have the opportunity to deliver a service from our central clinic base; community based settings (e.g. Children\'s Centres); nurseries; schools and patients homes. The service offers wrap around care to CYP and as part of a wider Children\'s Integrated team you will also be working collaboratively with our team of Occupational therapists and Speech and Language therapists.

You may have the opportunity to rotate between our defined sub-speciality teams within Children\'s Physiotherapy (Under 5\'s and Mainstream teams) and also experience time with Special schools. You will be supported by an experienced and well established leadership structure of Band 7 therapists in each unique area and will access a bespoke programme of training and support. You will be part of our programme of \'Team Days\' as both a participant and as a contributor.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a specialist children’s physiotherapist service in the community to children with disabilities.
  • Assess the functional needs of children and young people (CYP) in order to develop and implement Specialist Children’s Physiotherapy treatment and intervention.
  • Independently manage a defined caseload of complex cases with evidence of a high level of problem solving, reasoning skills and judgement.
  • Provide advice and education to others regarding the management and care of children with physical disabilities: development, posture, movement and/or coordination difficulties.
  • Work across a range of settings including central clinics, community settings (e.g. Children\'s Centres), nurseries, schools and homes, as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy within the Children\'s Integrated team.
  • Rotate between sub-speciality teams (Under 5\'s and Mainstream) and spend time in Special schools as appropriate, supported by Band 7 leadership and bespoke training.
  • Participate in the team development programme and Team Days as a contributor.
  • Provide training and advice for families and carers across all settings on issues pertaining to Children’s Physiotherapy.

To liaise closely with other services and agencies to provide a smooth coordinated service based on best practice. To assist in service development and provide information on issues pertaining to specialist area on a regular basis. To provide training and advice for families and carers across all settings on issues pertaining to Children’s Physiotherapy.
