Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking suitably qualified and experienced Physiotherapists to join the Acute Paediatric Service at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, supporting a busy, ward-based service and developing clinical knowledge and skills.

The post holder will participate in emergency duty and on-call rotas, assist with the day-to-day running of the paediatric service, contribute to professional development of rotational Band 5 staff and students, and engage in peer review and appraisal processes.

Qualifications

• Applicants should demonstrate a high standard of clinical expertise in the assessment and management of acute paediatrics.
• Post-graduate experience across a broad range of specialties is acceptable if paediatric experience is limited.
• Experience in an acute hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior physiotherapists with the day-to-day running of the acute paediatric service.
• Support rotational Band 5 physiotherapy staff, physiotherapy support workers and students.
• Participate in peer review and Turas Appraisal processes.
• Take part in emergency duty, on-call rotas and contribute to student practice education.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a high standard of clinical expertise in the assessment and management of a range of clinical presentations relevant to acute paediatrics. In the absence of specific Paediatric experience, candidates should have relevant post-graduate experience across a broad range of specialities and preferably experience of working in an acute hospital setting.

The post holder will assist senior Physiotherapy colleagues with the running of the acute Paediatric service on a day to day basis and the professional development of rotational Band 5 physiotherapy staff, Physiotherapy support workers and students. They will also participate in peer review/Turas Appraisal processes and assist with the effective day to day running of the Physiotherapy service in this area.
