About the Role

Are you looking to further your experience as a specialised paediatric dietitian whilst working as part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team in a tertiary children’s hospital? We are a friendly department of 32 dietitians, supported by dietetic support workers, Special Feed Unit staff, and an administrative team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive paediatric dietitian to join our paediatric intensive care, high dependency unit/s, and surgery team on a fixed-term maternity leave cover. The post provides a PICU nutrition service within our tertiary centre for children receiving cardiac or upper GI surgery and those admitted for burns and multi-trauma across the Southwest region. The post holder will be involved in critical care, high dependency, and transition to the specialist wards, as well as providing support and supervision to other members within the dietetic team. We are also a student trainer.

Candidate Requirements
  • Previous clinical paediatric experience in at least one specialist area
  • Interest in developing paediatric intensive care dietetic skills using the BDA PICU Dietitian competency framework
  • Band 6/7 level experience
Position Details

This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover at band 7 level, but we will consider a suitably experienced band 6 paediatric dietitian.
