Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Specialist Orthodontist to join Exeter Orthodontic Practice as we plan succession for Jo Davies and Alistair Green.

Exeter Orthodontic Practice was established over 42 years ago, and Jo, Alistair, and Jon have dedicated themselves to building the practice's excellent reputation with referring GDPs and the hospital. The practice has grown recently, now with an additional 3 specialists, and is a well-run specialist clinic with a highly skilled team. As Jo and Alistair proactively plan for retirement, we are seeking an additional Specialist Orthodontist to join the team.

We can offer:

  • A mixed NHS and private role, with days and UOAs to be discussed. If you are a Specialist Orthodontist interested in working in a highly established specialist clinic, we are open to exploring your transition into the role.
  • The practice has a stable team that works well together to ensure a smooth patient journey and efficient workflows.
  • Excellent patient feedback, rated 4.9 / 5 on Google.
  • Support from an experienced Practice Manager and nurses who handle record clinics, radiographs, and scanning, providing high levels of support.
  • Opportunities for newly qualified specialists seeking growth, mentorship, and support, as well as for experienced specialists looking to work in an established mixed NHS/private clinic.
  • Flexible working patterns due to forward planning.
  • Located just 2 minutes from the town centre, easily accessible by car, bus, and rail, with proximity to the M5/A30 and train stations.
  • Exeter offers a vibrant community with access to beaches, water sports, and outdoor activities.

What do you get in return?

Exeter Orthodontic Practice is part of the Portman|Dentex Group, one of approximately 70 specialist orthodontic practices in the UK, making us a leading provider in the country.

You will have access to a large network of like-minded specialists, many leaders in Orthodontics, and a skilled practice team supporting you to deliver exceptional patient care. We also offer:

  • Full clinical freedom – use your preferred equipment, materials, labs, and referral pathways to provide the best care, while being supported as a self-employed clinician.
  • Marketing, branding, and business support – to maximize your diary utilization and private/private work.
  • Mentoring and CPD – connecting you with clinical mentors and hosting regular CPD events with top dentists and specialists.
  • Support from Clinical Leads – practicing clinicians who balance patient care with acting as liaisons between clinicians and the wider business.
