Hours may vary, but Thursday all-day coverage is essential. (Note: Salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.)
Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) services facilitate the delivery of intravenous and complex oral antimicrobials in outpatient settings, aligning with Hospital at Home and supporting the Scottish NHS Urgent and Unscheduled Care agenda. This new role offers a unique opportunity within a specialist multidisciplinary infection team.
We seek an enthusiastic Pharmacist to support the expansion of our OPAT service, primarily at Clyde hospitals, with remote support for the wider GGC OPAT service. The successful candidate will provide an advanced clinical pharmacy service to patients receiving or being considered for OPAT, adhering to BSAC OPAT Good Practice Recommendations and SAPG key performance indicators.
Responsibilities include:
Training, support, and mentorship will be provided, aligned with the GGC antimicrobial stewardship agenda. Opportunities exist to develop evidence for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Advanced Pharmacy Framework. Candidates must have or be working towards an independent prescribing qualification.
