Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a Specialist 1-to-1 Study Skills Support Worker for Lincoln University. The role focuses on providing tailored study skills guidance and creating individual learning plans to foster independence in autistic students.

You will support development of organisation, time management, and research skills, with emphasis on appropriate sourcing and referencing. Flexible part-time hours are available, with PAYE pay and weekly timesheet processing.

Qualifications

• Must hold an undergraduate degree (level 6) with a teaching qualification and extensive autism training.
• Experience supporting autistic learners is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Punctuality, reliability and good organisational skills expected.

Responsibilities

Specialist one to one Study Skills SS-ASC

Specialist 1-to-1 Study Skills Support (SS-ASC) | Autism Support |

Location: Lincoln University

Rate of Pay: £28 per hour + £3.38 accrued holiday pay

Contract: Part-time, with flexible hours

Start Date: October 2026 (for the new 2026/2027 Academic Year)

As a Specialist 1-to-1 Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide learning support and academic guidance. This includes creating an individual learning plan that has been tailored to the student's needs and encouraging them to become an independent learner.

As a Specialist 1-to-1 Study Skills Support Worker, you are required to assist students with the below:

Build on strengths and learning strategies

Create strategies around organisation and time management

Create action plans to stay on track with studies

Build on research skills - widening knowledge by using a variety of sources

Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references

Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing

Requirements for the role:

As this is a specialist role, you must have the correct qualifications and training. All students you will be supporting are funded by the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) meaning all candidates providing this role must adhere to the qualification framework set out by the DfE.

Candidates must be qualified to undergraduate degree level (level 6 as minimum), have a teaching qualification AND have taken extensive training in adult autism.

The extensive training may include:

6 National Autistic Society Modules (non medical helper package)

OR

The Optimum Training Course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education: Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies.
