Rotational Band 6 Occupational Therapist - 0.8wte (30 hpw)

This is an exciting opportunity to become a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in the A-rated Stroke pathway at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH).

DBTH comprises three geographical sites (Doncaster, Bassetlaw, and Montagu Hospitals), and the successful applicant will rotate through all sites delivering high-quality care as part of a dedicated MDT in Stroke and Neurology.

Rotation includes:

  • Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation - Montagu Hospital / Bassetlaw Hospital

Successful applicants will work with the MDT to provide specialist Occupational therapy to patients of the highest quality across a 7-day rota. There is full senior support with a structured supervision process in place.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 6, the post holder will play a key role in ongoing service review, development, and delivery across the Trust’s stroke and neurology pathways. Opportunities to participate in quality improvement and innovation projects will be available. This is an exciting time to join the stroke pathway at DBTH with significant development opportunities to enhance rehabilitation facilities using augmented technology to improve patient experience and care at the Montagu site.

We have robust CPD and appraisal processes, and you will be supported to develop your clinical and non-clinical skills.

The successful applicant will have at least 18 months experience working as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, with postgraduate experience in Stroke and Neurology.

The post holder will support clinical leads, the Therapy manager, and existing Band 6 Occupational Therapists with operational management across the stroke and neurology pathway. They will contribute to education, training, and development of Band 5 Therapists, Therapy Assistants, multidisciplinary staff, and students. The role includes quality improvement and service evaluation, including audits.

As part of a regional stroke delivery network, the successful applicant will develop links with other Therapists within the region.
