Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within the CNWL NHS Foundation Trust, Community Health Services, for a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Staying Steady falls prevention service. Due to expanding and innovative project work, we are further resourcing our team to carry out this exciting new work. Based in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Staying Steady is a multi-professional team undertaking multifactorial risk assessments and providing enabling solutions such as equipment prescription, advice, signposting, and other interventions to reduce falls risks for adults in Milton Keynes.

This role offers a chance to develop assessment and treatment skills for individuals who have fallen or are at risk of falling. You will collaborate with experienced Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Support Workers, and Consultants to deliver coordinated, goal-oriented care.

Main duties of the job
  1. Provide advanced assessment of patients at risk of falling or who have fallen, developing and delivering individualized treatment plans.
  2. Conduct telephone triage, multifactorial assessments, and provide equipment and therapeutic interventions as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  3. Manage your own caseload independently.
  4. Perform all clinical duties autonomously.
  5. Engage in evidence-based audit and research to enhance clinical practice.
