The successful candidate will provide expert assessment and treatment for patients in medicine and elderly care wards, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills. We are recruiting for a highly motivated Band 7 Occupational Therapist to work in the Specialist Medicine team at St Mary's Hospital.
We are looking for an innovative and a highly skilled OT who demonstrates passion for Specialist and Elderly Medicine, strong leadership skills, excellent communication and team management skills. You will provide expert assessment and treatment for patients on medicine and medicine for the elderly wards.
This post is the highest band OT in the team providing OT leadership. You will be supporting and supervising occupational therapists in managing their caseload, complex decision making and discharge planning. We have a strong improvement culture across our teams, and the focus is on delivering high quality care for our patients. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the ability to make confident decisions for discharge planning to support the ward MDT.
The role includes providing education to other members of the integrated therapy and wider multidisciplinary teams. You will have opportunities to contribute to, facilitate, design and lead service improvement projects that aim to enhance and promote the value of occupational therapy in Specialist Medicine.
