Job summary
The Occupational Therapy Department at Great Ormond Street Hospital has a vacancy in our newly established Band 6 Rotation. This exciting opportunity allows you to work in a renowned tertiary hospital with children and young people across various specialty areas:
You will join a team of seven Band 6 Occupational Therapists within a department of 35, supported by a Band 7 Therapist through regular supervision. Opportunities for leadership development and clinical growth are available for passionate candidates interested in acute Paediatrics.
Main duties include providing occupational therapy assessments and interventions in one of the seven specialty areas, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver exemplary care for children and young people with complex conditions.
The role involves working on acute wards, outpatient clinics, and offering various interventions both individually and with other professionals. Flexibility, autonomous clinical reasoning, and excellent communication skills are essential. Liaison with local services is crucial for continuity of care and safe discharge. Experience with the Pan Hospital Wheelchair Service and assessing for wheelchairs and seating systems is highly beneficial.
