Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an existing band 6 or experienced band 5 to join the Medicine and Surgery Occupational Therapy Team, based at QMC. This post is for a permanent, full time team member.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is committed to further improving their clinical skills and who puts excellent quality care at the heart of their practice. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of complex case management, rehabilitation skills, and leadership qualities.
We are proud to be a referral-based generalist team, providing OT input to a variety of specialities including general medicine, vascular surgery, respiratory, gynaecology, surgical admissions, ENT and Maxillo-facial surgery, hepatobiliary, colorectal and gastro including specialist feeding unit. Recent complex patients have included individuals with functional neurological disorder, drug and alcohol excess and complex psychosocial factors.
Our team also provides the unique opportunity to work with new and established vascular lower limb amputees, including recovery and rehabilitation, wheelchair provision and access and discharge visits within the patient's home environment.
The successful candidate will join a supportive team who promote the importance of ongoing learning and development. There will be opportunity to contribute to service development.

The Occupational Therapy service is part of the Therapies, Outpatients and Phlebotomy Services (TOPS) Directorate, within the Specialist Clinical Services care group. We are a diverse directorate of AHPs, nursing and support staff, employing around 1000 staff, working together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to. Our HCPC registered AHP professionals comprise of physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists and speech and language therapists. We have a Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction, and many of the directorate leadership team have AHP backgrounds to support our staff. There are also Practice Development Therapists to support career development for all.
