Base: Cygnet Paddocks - Wilmere Lane, Widnes, WA8 5UY

Cygnet Paddocks is our specialist neuropsychiatric rehabilitation service for men, providing a dedicated care pathway for those affected by acquired brain injury or neurological conditions, where challenging behaviors are a primary focus of recovery and rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job

At Cygnet Healthcare, we emphasize an occupational focus supported by Clinical Leads and Occupational Therapy Directors. We utilize evidence-based practices across our service lines, with Occupational Therapists playing a key role. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work autonomously, providing specialist assessments and treatments, leading the occupational therapy department, and participating in senior management. Supporting student education and engaging in learning, development, and research are integral parts of this role, backed by a robust appraisal and supervision framework aligned with RCOT's Career Development Framework.

Your Role

Service Line: Specialist Neuropsychiatric Rehabilitation Service for Men

Contract: Fixed-term contract for 9 to 11 months, covering maternity leave.

Site Overview:

Cygnet Paddocks offers a specialized care pathway for men with acquired brain injuries or neurological conditions, focusing on behaviors that challenge as a key aspect of recovery. The service features individualized wards that mirror established rehabilitation pathways, supported by a comprehensive clinical and medical team, emphasizing person-centered outcomes and multidisciplinary collaboration. The service can accommodate individuals under various legal frameworks, including the Mental Health Act.

Located in Widnes, NW England, the site benefits from nearby parks, public transport, supermarkets, cafes, and leisure facilities. The clinical team includes physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and nurses. You will be supported by a Band 6 Occupational Therapist and an OT Assistant.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under our occupational therapy leadership, we support over 150 OTs across the group. We foster a collaborative environment, encouraging participation in service development and specialist interest groups.
