Cygnet Aspen Clinic is a specialist service for women with a diagnosis of personality disorder and associated complex needs. We provide assessment, stabilisation, treatment, and rehabilitation for up to 16 women.
At Cygnet Healthcare, we have a strong occupational focus supported by Clinical Leads and Occupational Therapy Directors. We use evidence-based practices within our service lines, with Occupational Therapists playing a key role. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work as an autonomous clinician, providing specialist assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction. You will also have supervisory responsibilities and lead specific projects. Supporting student education within the team is an integral part of this role. Opportunities for learning, development, and research are supported by a robust appraisal and supervision structure based on RCOT's Career Development Framework.

Your Role
Service Line: Personality Disorder (Female)
Summary: We seek a highly motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Cygnet Aspen Clinic. The successful candidate will be appointed at either Band 6 or Band 7, depending on skills and experience.
Post: Band 6 or Band 7 Occupational Therapist
Salary: £39,015 - £46,981 (full-time equivalent, dependent on experience)
Site: Cygnet Aspen Clinic
Hours: 40 hours (full-time)
Contract: Fixed-term (maternity cover) for 6 months with potential for permanence
Location: Cygnet Aspen Clinic, Mexborough, S64 9EX
Our service provides assessment, stabilization, treatment, and rehabilitation for women with complex trauma histories or those who have experienced placement breakdowns. We operate an integrated modular approach based on diagnostic differences, NICE guidelines, and the work of Livesley (2004), including models like DBT, TF-CBT, and CFT. The role offers an opportunity to shape and develop occupational therapy services, deliver high-quality assessments and interventions, and support patient recovery through evidence-based practices.
Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with other professionals to improve patient outcomes and promote independence. You will also supervise the Occupational Therapy Assistant, ensuring high standards of practice and professional growth.
Our team supports over 180 Occupational Therapists and 300 OT support staff. We promote service model development, participation in interest groups, and continuous professional development through regular meetings led by clinical lead occupational therapists.
