Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Occupational Therapist with HCPC Registration to join our Trust-wide Working Age Adults Occupational Therapy Service. The post is substantive (1.0 WTE) and based within the Elmbridge CMHRS Team. Prior experience with adults with OT needs is preferred, but tailored induction and training will be provided. The role involves working with a well-established outpatient team dedicated to high-quality care for individuals with severe and enduring mental health issues. A full driving license and access to a vehicle are required due to community-based work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, apprentices, activity coordinators, and support workers.
  • Provide clinical placements for occupational therapy students.
  • Lead on project work relevant to the team/service.
  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments and interventions, adapting as needed.
  • Stay updated with current evidence-based practices and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, carers, and other professionals.
  • Maintain professional and legal standards in clinical work, adhering to HCPC guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing CPD to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience

Essential: Occupational Therapy qualification, B6 completion of Fieldwork Educators course, experience working with mental health adults, contributing to service development, supervision experience.

Desirable: Experience of group facilitation, supporting students on placement.

Additional Details

Location: Joseph Palmer Centre, West Molesey, Surrey

Contract: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm)

Salary: £31,469 - £47,084 (including 5% Fringe HCAS), NHS Band 6
