Job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our motivated and enthusiastic team, delivering high-quality care within a 15-bed dedicated inpatient rehabilitation unit. This unit provides specialist rehabilitation for individuals with a range of complex needs, including those on a stroke pathway. You will play a key role in supporting patients through their recovery journey, helping them regain independence and improve quality of life.

Responsibilities
  • Working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred rehabilitation
  • Contributing to service development alongside a Powys-wide neuro and stroke specialist team
  • The post holder will provide a specialist Occupational Therapy Service within a designated area for Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB), responsible for: managing a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence-based/client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
  • Provide leadership for junior staff through supervision and appraisal
  • Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of Powys Teaching Health Board Occupational Therapy Service
  • Regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements
  • Deputise for Team Leader when necessary
  • Work flexibly across locality and participate in the 7-day rota to meet the service needs
  • Provide cover in other areas/specialities as appropriate and within competencies
  • Provide a flexible service in locations most appropriate to patient\'s needs; allocate work to support staff, at all times monitoring their skills and competencies
