Job summary

The Cambian Group is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join Cambian New Elizabethan School, a day school for youths with ASD, communication challenges, and complex needs. This term-time only role involves autonomous work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver assessments and needs-led interventions.

Applicants should have an OT degree or postgraduate diploma, HCPC registration, RCOT membership, and experience with ASD and CAMHS.

Qualifications

• Experience working with ASD client group.
• CAMHS experience preferred.
• A degree or a post graduate diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Registration with the HCPC and RCOT.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quality assessments, reports and needs-led interventions for young people.
• Work with school staff to embed sensory strategies across the environment.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop and improve Occupational Therapy services.
• Provide supervision and training as needed.

Job description

Cambian New Elizabethan School is a day school that offers outstanding opportunities for boys and girls with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, communication difficulties, complex needs and challenging behaviour.

Job Role This is Term time only

You will work alongside a full multidisciplinary team including clinicians, care and Education staff. You will have opportunities to be part of the provision development and contribute to the improvement Occupational Therapy service.

Working autonomously, you will provide quality assessments, reports and needs led interventions for young people and work with the school staff to embed sensory strategies across the environment.

Previous experience in working with ASD and Learning disabilities with children & young people is required and formal qualifications in Sensory Integration is welcomed. Experience in providing supervision, staff consultation and training is required.

Taking a “hands on” approach it is essential that you will be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills. You must have excellent organisational and time management skills.

Essential:

• Experience working with ASD client group
• CAMHS experience preferred
