Job description

The Bridlington, Driffield & Holderness OPCMHT are looking for a motivated and compassionate Part time (27.5 Hours) Specialist Occupational Therapist (OT) to work within the area we cover in the East Riding. Candidates will be required to have the specialist level of experience, knowledge, and clinical skills to conduct evidence-based OT Assessments and Treatment plans to promote the service user's occupational identity and performance skills to enable their recovery, health, and wellbeing.

The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, provide clinical supervision to coordinate and develop the therapeutic activities offered across the service. The Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) and relevant assessments and outcome measures are used to frame clinical practice, therefore the successfully applicant would benefit from having previous knowledge and experience of the model and assessment tools.

Humber employ 80+ OT staff and are part of the wider AHP network. Access to OT Profession network and training to promote personal, and professional development. The OTs in the mental health services are part of the Mental Health Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Group to ensure they have access to right support, training, and development opportunities.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with HCPC
  • Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level e.g. degree or post graduate level or equivalent
Knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of the evidence-base relevant to the clinical area
  • Specialist knowledge of occupational therapy models of practice, standardised assessments, and their use in practice
  • A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical practice and service
  • Willingness to consider undertaking the training required to be a Practice Placements for students.
  • Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
Experience
  • Understanding of caseload management clinical responsibilities
  • Appropriate knowledge/experience of working in the relevant service area
  • Successful completion of preceptorship
  • Evidence of promoting/supporting active user/carer involvement/participation
