Job overview: An exciting opportunity for a perioperative practitioner to join an established team covering The James Cook University Hospital and Gara Orthopaedic Unit, Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.
Main duties of the job: The post holder will lead and develop ward-based services to provide safe and equitable care for all orthopaedic patients, including elective, urgent, and emergency cases, from admission to discharge. The role requires completion of the Physical Assessment Skills course and Non-Medical Prescribing.
South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley, with two acute hospitals and community hospital services. The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre providing a wide range of services, including neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery, and cancer services. It has 1,024 beds, a 24-hour acute admissions unit, an emergency department, and its own helipad. The hospital also features modern operating theatres, an intensive care unit, and educational facilities.
The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton is a key part of our organisation, with 189 inpatient beds, serving the community.
