Specialist Nurse for Children Looked After

Band 7, full time 37.5h a week

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to join our dedicated Children Looked After nursing team within Croydon.

To work as part of the Children Looked After (CLA) health team in Croydon Health Service (CHS), and as part of a wider multi-agency partnership to ensure comprehensive and robust arrangements are in place for the services delivered by CHS to children and young people looked after by Croydon Council.

To fulfill the role of Specialist Nurse for CLA on behalf of Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. The post holder will work in accordance with the DOH 2015 guidance “Promoting the health and wellbeing of looked after children” and the Intercollegiate Framework 2015 competence skills and knowledge framework.

The post holder will be responsible for a caseload of looked after children and young people, undertaking direct specialist clinical work including statutory health assessment reviews.

They will develop and deliver personalized health care packages for children and young people for whom Croydon Council is the corporate parent.

The post holder will work with colleagues to ensure timely, child and young person-focused assessments and interventions, ensuring reports are completed within statutory timeframes.

Training will be delivered to foster carers and other health and social care professionals.

The post holder is expected to work with vulnerable children and young people, using a trauma-informed approach to create safe, supportive, and empowering environments.
