An exciting opportunity to join an established Children in Care Nursing team has arisen for a permanent 30-hour post. Although the service operates Monday to Friday, covering core hours of 9-5, there is a requirement to show flexibility to meet service needs and the needs of children and young people.
We are looking for a committed and creative individual to be part of the team taking the next steps in improving health outcomes for our Children in Care.
We are seeking a motivated practitioner with initiative and up-to-date knowledge of the Children in Care health agenda. You will work as part of a team delivering statutory health assessments and health interventions for a defined caseload. A broad understanding of children and young people's health issues is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate flexibility and creative thinking in service delivery.
Knowledge of recent documents and strategies driving the development of services for Children in Care, as well as understanding safeguarding principles, is essential.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are required, with a commitment to team working and the ability to work independently. You will collaborate with GPs, community paediatricians, children and young people, families, partner agencies, and Commissioners to deliver quality services.
An Enhanced DBS check against the Children's and Adults' Barred Lists will be conducted during pre-employment. Applicants will be expected to see children and families face-to-face within community settings.
Qualifications (Essential):
Desirable qualifications include mentorship, health visitor or school nurse registration, and community prescribing qualification.
Experience (Essential):
Desirable experience: experience with Children in Care and statutory processes.
Skills and Knowledge (Essential):
Desirable skills: immuniser, sexual health qualification, knowledge of SEND, neurodevelopmental issues, substance misuse/emotional health issues.
Additional essential skills: proficient English communication, ability to travel independently, make multiple site visits, and self-motivation.
