Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing pre- and post-operative care to children and young people, assisting in their recovery and preparing them for discharge. This includes wound care, assisting with personal care, and providing emotional support during stressful times.
• Liaising with parents, guardians, and consultants, giving advice, making recommendations to improve patient wellbeing, and being able to identify deteriorating patients for immediate, informed decisions.
• Risk assessing children and young people for admission suitability.
• Providing RCN support during paediatric clinics, assisting with minor operations and Phlebotomy.
• Working as part of a small team with opportunities to help run and grow the service according to needs.

Who we are looking for:

• NMC Registered Sick Children's Nurse with no restrictions on practice.
• EPALS certification.
• At least 2 years post-qualification experience in paediatrics, ideally in a surgical setting.
• Excellent understanding of CQC criteria.
• Willing to learn and support the day-to-day running of the paediatric service.
• Ability to work autonomously without supervision.

Working Hours: Shifts between 8 am - 8 pm. Shifts can be any days Monday-Saturday, on a rota basis.

Contract: Permanent
