An opportunity has arisen for a full-time B6 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join the Whipps Cross Therapies team within Barts Health Trust. The post holder will be a qualified Physiotherapist with MSK experience, registered with HCPC, ideally with an Orthopaedic inpatient rotation. They should have strong knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy principles and experience treating peripheral and spinal patients. Assessments and treatments will be conducted face-to-face and virtually. Evidence of involvement in project management and audit is desirable.

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapy treatment to outpatients as part of the therapy team. Manage your own caseload, conducting thorough clinical assessments, planning treatments, and discharging patients appropriately. Provide clinical supervision and appraisal to junior staff, therapy assistants, and students.

Person specification

Experience

  • Postgraduate experience in MSK outpatient and orthopaedic clinical settings
  • Evidence of CPD in line with HCPC recommendations
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Supervision, advice, and training experience with junior staff and students
  • Experience in audit and research activities

Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of current physiotherapy practices in relevant settings
  • Specialist skills in musculoskeletal outpatient care
  • Understanding of risk management and legal responsibilities
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills for managing own and others’ workloads
  • Ability to work independently and support team members
  • Experience supporting clinical governance activities
  • Knowledge of national policies relevant to the client group
  • Flexibility, reliability, and willingness to participate in weekend rotas
  • Ability to maintain respiratory competency for emergency physiotherapy duties

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
