Job summary

Specialist Midwife (Infant Feeding)

Job responsibilities

In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of the Trust‑wide Infant Feeding Service in line with UNICEF BFI standards, working collaboratively with maternity, neonatal and community teams to ensure consistent, evidence‑based, family‑centred care. You will champion quality improvement through audits and feedback, deliver inspiring training to build staff confidence and competence, and provide expert, compassionate advice to families, helping them make informed choices and feel confident in feeding their babies.

You will promote a culture that celebrates breastfeeding, responsive parenting and the reduction of health inequalities, ensuring every family receives best possible support from the very start.

Additional duties include representing the service at Trust meetings, developing policy and supporting service delivery across the Trust, leading and mentoring staff and working across the Trust and the wider community to support best practice infant feeding.

Working Pattern

18.75 hours per week. Monday – Friday.
