Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is Mon – Sun, 08:30 – 16:30 (37 hours per week).

We are looking for a highly motivated compassionate midwife to work as a member of our Blossom Team in Glasgow. If you feel you are an enthusiastic, proactive midwife who is passionate about delivering high quality, evidence based, individualised woman and family centred care, then we want you to join our team.

The applicant will be responsible for promoting safety and excellence by being the clinical expert, coordinating care and liaising with the wider multidisciplinary team providing care for vulnerable and complex pregnant women with a wide range of complex health and social vulnerabilities in pregnancy.

The applicant will support in the delivery of the key objectives of GGC Maternity and Neonatal Strategy. You will be required to have excellent leadership and communication skills in line with NHS GGC values.

NHS GGC covers a population of 1,370,000 and provides care for 12,000 women each year. We have 3 maternity hospitals with AMUs and 2 Community Maternity Units and Homebirth team and employ 920 full and part time staff in a range of clinical and non-clinical roles across all 5 sites.
