A leading university in Canterbury is seeking a Specialist Mentor in Mental Health ASC to support neurodiverse students. This flexible hybrid position allows you to assist students by developing tailored support plans backed by training from the National Autistic Society. Specialist Mentor Mental Health ASC

£28 per hour + £3.38 accrued holiday pay

As part of the eligibility criteria for this role, we require candidates to have completed the relevant National Autistic Society (NAS) training modules.

If you have not yet completed these modules, don't worry - we are happy to support you in obtaining them. You will be provided with direct access to the required training materials. The training costs approximately £180 per hour, and successful completion is necessary prior to commencing the role.

Upon completion, you will receive a certificate from the National Autistic Society, which can serve as a valuable addition to your professional profile. This certification is widely recognised and can strengthen your CV when applying for roles that support individuals with Autism, ADHD, and other neurodiverse conditions.

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include membership of a relevant professional body (BACP, BPS, HCPC, NCPS, NMC, SWE, SCW, UMHAN, or COSCA), completion of 6 National Autistic Society Modules, and demonstrated experience supporting students with mental health needs. NAS Certification (or willingness to obtain) is required.



Education

A postgraduate qualification in mental health, counselling, or a related field is highly desirable.
