Job description

Band 6 Specialist IBD Dietitian

We are seeking a passionate dietitian to support patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Working alongside an established multidisciplinary team with links to regional, national, and global research, you will have the opportunity to advance dietetic interventions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt within a dynamic environment, demonstrating a commitment to team collaboration.

This role is suitable for a Dietitian looking to develop clinical skills in a large teaching hospital with a diverse and challenging caseload. Regular supervision and support will be provided.

This position may be appropriate for progression from Band 5 to Band 6.

  1. Provide comprehensive dietetic services to inpatients and outpatients referred to the gastroenterology team.
  2. Perform specialist dietetic assessments of patients with diverse and complex physical and psychological conditions, developing individualized treatment plans.
  3. Collaborate closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team and fellow dietitians as needed.
  4. Deliver specialist training and education on dietetic assessment and treatment within this specialty to the wider team and both qualified and unqualified staff.
  5. Participate actively in implementing practice changes and contributing to service development.
