Job description

Join to apply for the Specialist In-Situ Testing Technician role at SOCOTEC UK.

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Specialist In-Situ Testing Technician to join our Geotechnical team within the Infrastructure Division. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of unique projects across the UK, contributing to vital ground investigation services that support construction projects such as towers, bridges, roads, and tunnels.

Responsibilities include:

1. Developing skills in in-situ testing and monitoring techniques, including CPT, pressuremeter testing, and equipment calibration.
2. Interpreting and reporting testing results.
3. Site supervision of drilling projects, logging samples, and data input.
4. Collecting groundwater, gas, and ground displacement data, and sampling.
5. Assisting with core sample preparation and maintaining accurate field records.
6. Transporting consumables, samples, and equipment to and from sites.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience with site supervision, borehole permeability tests, and data collection for groundwater and gas monitoring.
• Ability to act as a technician on large sites, support logging engineers, and handle detailed field records.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical testing procedures and safety standards.
