  • Post: Specialist / Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (Band 6/7)
  • Salary: Between £39,015 - £55,181 per year DOE
  • Hours: Full time, permanent

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist or Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with interest in Neuropsychiatry to join our team at Cygnet Brunel.

Cygnet Brunel is a 32-bed Neuropsychiatric service, offering neuropsychiatric rehabilitation for individuals with complex acquired brain injury and mental health needs.

The hospital is a modern facility designed to provide a clinically led, evidence-based neuropsychiatric pathway for individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge. Our focus is to create a therapeutically rich environment which engages our service users and provides opportunities to minimise challenging behaviour and maximise independence.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check; employment is contingent upon successful clearance.

Main duties of the job
  • Work directly with a specialist caseload of patients with complex needs to assess speech, communication, and language needs (SCLN) in all environments.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on-site to support the implementation of therapeutic and neuropsychiatric approaches, demonstrating an interest in upskilling the workforce.
  • Operate within the SLT pathway for neuropsychiatric/neurodegenerative services as part of a small on-site SLT team.
  • Provide quality assessments and interventions; be skilled in SCLN and dysphagia management.
  • Contribute to a company-wide SLT service and support service enhancement initiatives.
