A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Grade Doctor in Addictions Psychiatry within NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
The post is based at Lister Street, Crosshouse Hospital, with clinical work at other Addictions bases in East Ayrshire. Responsibilities include:
You will join five existing consultants and work as part of well-developed multidisciplinary and multi-agency services offering comprehensive addiction treatments.
An active academic program, accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, offers opportunities for research and academic linkage. Support for developing special interests and SAS doctor development is available, including access to an SAS Educational Advisor and development funds.
Applicants must have Full GMC Registration (with Licence to Practice) and at least 10 years of medical work experience since primary qualification, with a minimum of six years in relevant psychiatry specialties. Overseas experience will also be considered.
Terms and conditions follow the Specialist Contract 2022 (Scotland), with opportunities for additional Programmed Activities and SPAs. Applications for less than 0.8 WTE will be considered, and there is flexibility for base locations within NHS Ayrshire and Arran's Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service, subject to negotiation.
