Specialist GP (ADHD Physical Health) — United Kingdom (Remote)

Reporting to: ADHD Clinical Lead

Remuneration: £97,500 per annum (£130,000 FTE) plus £1k home-working allowance per annum

Contract Type: Permanent/Part-Time (0.6 WTE) 30 hours per week

Location: Home-based/various UK meeting locations as required

The Specialist GP (ADHD Physical Health) will support the safe and effective management of patients undergoing ADHD assessment and treatment by reviewing physical health information and providing clear, evidence-based clinical recommendations. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the GP will ensure ADHD treatment decisions are made in the context of each patient’s wider physical and mental health.

This is a home-based role (applicants must reside in the UK), though occasional travel may be required for face-to-face meetings at various locations within the UK. The role will adhere to the flexitime principles for Psychiatry UK.

As our Specialist GP (ADHD Physical Health) you will:

  • Review physical health tests provided by the ADHD and administrative teams, including ECGs, echocardiograms, and blood results.
  • Review physical health observations submitted by patients such as blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and other relevant health information.
  • Consider letters and reports from other healthcare specialists relating to physical health.
  • Document clear reports in patient records, explaining findings and setting out appropriate treatment plans.
  • Liaise with administrative staff and treating clinicians to ensure agreed plans are actioned.
  • Communicate directly with patients via secure online messaging when required.
  • Work in line with Psychiatry UK’s clinical policies, governance frameworks, and regulatory standards
  • Engage in regular supervision with the team lead.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Full GMC registration in General Practice with good standing.
  • Proven ability to interpret and act upon ECGs, echocardiograms, and blood test results.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience in psychiatry, ADHD, or wider mental health services.
  • Experience working with online consultation platforms and electronic patient record systems.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong understanding of how physical health factors influence mental health and ADHD treatment.
  • Excellent written communication skills for clear, concise, and patient-friendly reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Comfortable working within a remote/online service model.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and quality improvement frameworks.
  • Understanding of service development processes in digital or mental health services.
