Specialist Fire Safety Advisor - Royal Lancaster Infirmary

Role Overview

The Specialist Fire Safety Advisor will provide technical expertise to management to enable the Trust to fulfill its statutory duties under fire safety legislation. The post-holder will be the primary contact for external agencies regarding fire safety matters.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Advise on fire legislation and safety guidance, including Firecode.
  2. Contribute to the development of the organisation’s fire safety policy and strategy.
  3. Develop and deliver fire safety training programs.
  4. Liaise with enforcing authorities, primarily the local Fire and Rescue Service.
  5. Conduct Fire Risk Assessments and prepare reports.
  6. Perform Fire Safety Audits and report findings to management.
  7. Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies on fire precautions.
  8. Manage fire safety equipment, signage, and notices.
  9. Advise on fire safety issues affecting new and existing premises, including specifications and maintenance.
  10. Engage with the local authority Emergency Services Liaison Committee.
