A leading organization in Salford seeks a qualified Educational Psychologist to deliver support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and positive outcomes for young people. You will oversee quality practices and produce reports for various stakeholders, contributing to the development of services. This role emphasizes collaboration with families and professionals, ensuring that young people's voices are heard in all aspects of service delivery.
You will be a qualified Educational Psychologist with HPCP registration.
Your responsibilities include delivering Educational Psychology support through a consultative service model to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, professionals, young people, and their families, ensuring effective communication and respect for diverse viewpoints.
Part of your role (0.5 FTE) involves providing psychological services for Salford’s No Wrong Door Hub & Outreach Service, a multidisciplinary team supporting adolescents with complex needs on the edge of care or in care. You will support the team in achieving the best outcomes for young people, sharing your expertise in SEND, and demonstrating commitment to the No Wrong Door approach, ensuring services are responsive to the needs of service users and their families. You should be adept at managing complex situations with resilience and flexibility.
You will involve young people in discussions and decisions, emphasizing co-design and their voices in all aspects of service delivery.
You will oversee the quality of practice within the EPS concerning Trauma/Trauma-informed practice, leading by example and maintaining high standards. Supervision and CPD opportunities in your field will be part of your responsibilities.
Maintaining professional boundaries, evaluating your responsibilities annually, and contributing to organizational development are also key duties. You will produce professional reports advising the local authority, professionals, parents, and agencies, including providing Educational Psychology Advice as required under the Children and Families Act 2014.
Please note that this position requires a DBS check, with the cost (£49.50) deducted from your salary over the first four months. Candidates requiring sponsorship are not eligible to apply.
