Applications are invited for a newly created Specialist Doctor Post in Paediatric Oncology and Haematology at The Royal Marsden Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The Children’s and Young People’s Unit of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, Sutton is based in an internationally renowned cancer centre; has excellent integration with all adult oncology specialities and enjoys the significant benefits of co-location with The Institute of Cancer Research. The applicant will be joining a well-established multidisciplinary paediatric team in a friendly and supportive department. The role of Specialist doctors have autonomy and are well supported by the Trust. There is a democratically elected SAS and Specialty Doctor chair representing all the SAS and Specialist doctors helping improve the working conditions and the patient care they provide.
The post is focussed on service delivery and leadership of Children’s Day Care unit working closely with paediatric consultants, endocrinologists, allied health professionals and the nursing team. The post is currently advertised as part time with dedicated SPA time allocated for revalidation, appraisal and Continuous Professional Development. Leadership, educational or other roles are encouraged and additional SPA activities can be negotiated at job planning.
You should have full GMC registration with a licence to practice and at least 6 years’ experience in Paediatric Oncology within the training grades, or the equivalent time in flexible training. Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
