We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to help us deliver our ambitious service development plans. The successful applicant will primarily contribute to clinical service delivery within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) providing medical services to support our multi-disciplinary team offering assessment, diagnosis and treatment of neuro-developmental conditions such as ADHD and ASD. The post holder will also support the wider psychiatry team in other areas of service delivery where capacity allows.
This post will be based within the Phoenix Centre CAMHS Clinic, Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. You will be joining the service at an exciting time in our development plans. We have remodelled our unscheduled care team and increased our service provision in eating disorders, neuro-developmental conditions and developed our liaison provision. We are currently developing our intensive home treatment capacity. There is currently no out of hour’s commitment. Active engagement in local CPD will be expected.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
