Job Overview

A rare opportunity has arisen to work in partnership with the Tier 3 Specialist Eating Disorder (SPEED) Team in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), as a Specialist Clinical Dietitian. The model for CAMHS Eating Disorders assessment and intervention is the Maudsley Model of Family Based Treatment (FBT) and Family Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa, which is evidence-based and recommended in the recently updated NICE Guidelines for Eating Disorders (NICE, 2017).

This post is based in the West of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, within the CAMHS Specialist Eating Disorder team.

Main duties of the job

This role offers the opportunity to work within the West Area Local Specialist Eating Disorder (SPEED) Team to develop cutting-edge Nutrition and Dietetic services in North Wales. You will contribute to quality improvement processes for nutrition and dietetics for children and adolescents with eating disorders.

You will receive supervision from a Band 7 Team Lead Dietitian and be part of a wider, dynamic North Wales Paediatric Dietetic team and Paediatric CAMHS/SPEED Team. The team meets twice a year for away days and maintains constant contact via email and phone, sharing resources and developments. As a Band 6, you are expected to actively participate, providing expertise and leadership as needed.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; applications from English and Welsh speakers are equally welcome.
