Specialist Dietitian - neuro rehab

We have an exciting opportunity for a dietitian to enhance their clinical skills in our Neuro rehab centre as part of our team at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust. The position is a 0.6 WTE band 6 fixed term position.

We are looking for a forward thinking dietitian to join our team of dietitians, based at City Campus. You will become an integral member of our multidisciplinary team delivering high quality patient-centred dietetic care. We are an exceptional, dynamic and supportive team with a strong MDT ethos.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support complex nutritional interventions as well as nutrition support and enteral feeding so some experience in these would be beneficial. We actively encourage service improvement and audit and the successful candidate would have the opportunity to be involved in development work to improve nutritional care of our patients.

You'll need to have excellent communication and leadership skills, a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and workload and that of other members of staff within a supportive team. Experience of nutritional support and evidence of a varied clinical experience is desirable.

The Dietetic service is part of the Therapies and Rehabilitation Services pathway, which is one of the pathways that together make up the Clinical Support Division at NUH.

We are a diverse pathway of AHPs and support staff, employing over 600 staff, who works together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to. Our HCPC registered AHP professionals comprise of physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists and speech and language therapists.

We have a Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction, and many of the pathway leadership team have pathway AHP backgrounds to support our staff. There are also Practice Development Therapists to support career development for all.

Job responsibilities

You should have experience of working as a dietitian, have excellent communication skills, self-motivation, have a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and buys workload within a supportive team. Nutritional support skills are essential and additional training and support will be provided.
