Reports to Senior Specialist Data Product Engineer

At the Aztec Group we credit our technology as one of the core ingredients to our award-winning outsourced solutions. We are currently looking for a Specialist Data Product Engineer to join our Data Platform team and help Aztec to deliver their exciting new technology strategy, leveraging Alteryx Designer & Server.

This Senior Associate level role will centre on the design, implementation and support of Alteryx across the Group. Providing technical guidance in evaluating requirements, developing efficient artifacts and maintaining technical design documents. Under the direction of an experienced Manager and with support for continuing professional development, the ideal candidate will become a key part of the Group’s Data Platform team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support business users in Alteryx development.
  • Apply best practices to develop workflows and analytics solutions that support our Alteryx Platform including data querying, parsing, analysis and automation activities.
  • Evaluation of requirements, creating technical design documents and applying an Agile development methodology.
  • Collaborate with a range of internal or stakeholders and contractors to develop Alteryx workflow solutions.
  • Monitor and optimise the solution performance and contribute to continuing process improvement.
  • Deploy new or implement changes to existing solutions in line with Aztec’s Change Management Framework.
  • At all times, ensure compliance with Aztec’s Information Security and Data Governance standards.
  • Advocating best practices, providing training, sharing knowledge, and first line user support to the business.
  • Understanding of business problems/requirements and converting them to quick prototypes.
  • Administer the UAT Environment and support Citizen Designers.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of Alteryx through continual professional development.

Skills, knowledge and expertise:

  • Alteryx Designer Core Certified.
  • Experience working with Alteryx Designer, building and supporting automated workflows for various areas of the business.
  • Experience with the deployment of Alteryx workflows to the Production Gallery.
  • Knowledge of database fundamentals including data design and SQL data warehouse design concepts and querying concepts is beneficial.
  • Exposure to PowerBI, Databricks, Microsoft Azure and Profisee is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Json, Python, XML and R is an advantage.
  • Experience with non-relational databases and unstructured data is beneficial.
  • Exposure to using Azure DevOps/GitHub within an Agile framework is an advantage.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate those requirements into accurate and concise technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in a Financial Services environment and/or financial reporting an advantage.
