Job description

Specialist Community Public Health Nurse 5-19

Our service is committed to delivering a high-quality service to our children and families within an integrated model with Family Support Services. We work with individual children and young people, as well as developing local public health plans with schools and the wider community. Our innovative service embraces the use of technology, delivering the Healthy Child Programme through electronic health needs assessments to identify individuals requiring early intervention pathways. We utilize ChatHealth text messaging services for 11-19 year olds and for parents/carers. Additionally, we have implemented two health websites for use by children, young people, families, and professionals, and have developed and promoted social media to connect with children, young people, and their families.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Be a confident, independent practitioner
  2. Be a skilled team player capable of leading a skill-mixed team
  3. Have excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, professionals, and staff
  4. Have experience with electronic record keeping (full training will be provided)
  5. Possess a full valid driving license and access to a car for business purposes (unless disabled as per the Equality Act 2010)
  6. Require an enhanced child and adult DBS certificate
