We are excited to announce a new opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated pharmacist to join our Critical Care and Women / Childrens pharmacy teams. NHS Fife's Critical Care services include an Intensive Care Unit plus both Medical and Surgical High-Dependency Units. NHS Fife Womens and Childrens (W+C) services provides care for paediatric, neonatal, obstetric, and gynaecology patients. You will be part of a supportive pharmacy team dedicated to developing services for these patients.

As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to improve the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of prescribing across both Critical Care and W+Cs services. You will have the opportunity to contribute to formulary submissions and the review and development of clinical guidelines. Alongside senior and other specialist pharmacist(s), you will provide clinical pharmacy services to these specialist areas and support the strategic and operational development of the pharmacy service at NHS Fife.
You will have relevant post-registration experience of pharmacy practice, sound clinical knowledge, excellent communication, organisational, interpersonal skills and comprehensive IT skills. It is desirable that you have either: a relevant post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy/ prescribing sciences or equivalent experience, or be an independent prescriber, or are able to complete these within an agreed timescale.
The NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Directorate is undergoing an ambitious programme of transformation and integration. It serves a population of approximately 380,000 people, and is provided by an integrated team of around 300 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Workers, Nurses, and Administrators. The team work across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife.
As part of our staff engagement and leadership, our Pharmacy Senior Leadership hold monthly staff briefing sessions to update the team on new developments, celebrate achievements and to hear ideas from our staff.
