Job summary

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust invites an experienced Specialist Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join our Cardiac Rehabilitation Service in Wolverhampton. You will assess patients, prescribe tailored exercise programs, and monitor progress across the cardiac rehabilitation pathway.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based interventions, provide cardiovascular risk management education, maintain records, and participate in audits and professional development

Specialist Clinical Exercise Physiologist | The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Specialist Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join our established Cardiac Rehabilitation Service. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to play a key role in the assessment, exercise prescription, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based cardiac rehabilitation programmes for patients with cardiovascular disease.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist exercise assessment and intervention for patients across the cardiac rehabilitation pathway. You will use your advanced knowledge of exercise physiology, cardiovascular disease and behaviour change to support patients in improving their functional capacity, managing cardiovascular risk factors and achieving positive long-term health outcomes.

Deliver specialist exercise assessment and prescription for patients referred to cardiac rehabilitation programmes.

Undertake risk stratification and clinical monitoring of patients with cardiovascular disease during exercise interventions.

Develop and implement individualised exercise and physical activity programmes based on clinical assessment findings.

Provide education and support relating to cardiovascular disease, lifestyle modification and secondary prevention.

Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary cardiac rehabilitation team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to audit, governance and quality improvement activities.Support service development and implementation of evidence-based practice.

Participate in continuing professional development and contribute to the education of colleagues, students and patients.
