Specialist Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist

Responsibilities include:
- Providing psychological assessments of clients referred to the psychology service, utilizing complex data from various sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, observations, and interviews with clients, family, and others involved in care.
- Developing psychological formulations of presenting problems, integrating information from assessments within a coherent framework based on psychological theory and evidence, considering interpersonal, societal, cultural, and biological factors.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans for clients' mental health problems, employing evidence-based methods across different care settings.
- Implementing psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, adjusting formulations and hypotheses as needed.
- Evaluating treatment options, considering complex factors related to clients' developmental and historical backgrounds.
- Exercising autonomous responsibility for assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients, managing caseloads according to service guidelines.
- Providing psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals to aid in formulation, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Contributing to a psychologically informed framework of understanding and care across all service settings and agencies.
- Undertaking risk assessments and management, providing advice on psychological aspects of risk to other professions.
- Communicating effectively and sensitively with clients, families, and others about assessment and treatment plans, including delivering difficult information.
