A leading healthcare provider in Liverpool is seeking a Specialist Clinical Cardiac Physiologist to perform a wide range of diagnostic cardiac investigations. The successful candidate will support a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate experience in cardiac procedures. We are searching for enthusiastic motivated physiologists to join our busy department. Applicants must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in a broad range of routine cardiac investigations.
The successful candidates must be able to provide evidence of continuing professional development. Suitable candidates must possess either a Degree in Clinical Physiology, SCST parts I and II or BTEC / HTEC in MPPM or equivalent.
Should be working towards Academy for Healthcare Science accreditation, eligibility to apply should be checked.
The suitable applicants should have the ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritise your individual workload, as well as being able to work effectively within a team.
Suitable applicants will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality diagnostic services including the full range of non-invasive cardiac diagnostics, working independently in the catheter laboratories and supervised with the field of pacemaker implantation and follow up.
In house training will be given in all areas to ensure suitable candidates deliver a high quality service. These positions will offer qualified Cardiac Physiologists an excellent development opportunity in clinical physiology.
As a Cardiac physiologist you will be required to perform without supervision a wide range of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic cardiac investigations.
You must demonstrate a good underpinning knowledge in cardiac investigations. Appropriate training will be given to ensure you are working to a safe competent standard. You will be given the appropriate exposure and knowledge ensuring you develop and gain experience in the complete range of diagnostic cardiac investigations provided by Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

Works unsupervised in Non invasive testing and Cath lab. Works under supervision in Pacemaker/ICD follow up.
Perform specialised diagnostic cardiac physiological testing on patients to aid clinical diagnosis.
Demonstrates empathy when dealing with patients in distressing conditions.
Interprets results and provides factual reports for specialised diagnostic cardiac investigations.
Communicate effectively and advise both clinical and non-clinical staff regarding outcomes of diagnostic investigations.
Perform necessary adjustments to devices which directly affect patients clinical environment.
Participates on a roster basis, in all areas of technical cardiology
Participates in training for Clinical staff, Trainee Cardiac Physiologists and other allied health professionals.
Assists in monitoring and maintaining quality of services within Cardiac Diagnostics
Ensures that individual own level of practice is kept up to date with current developments in the field of Cardiology including innovative work undertaken in research for a wide range of cardiac investigations.
Demonstrates active participation in clinical audit, and R&D activities.
Has awareness of future implications for development of current Cardiology services.
Works throughout a number of areas recognising all aspects of infection control measures needed for each specific clinical area.
Works within a multidiscipline environment abiding to strict regulations regarding radiation and protection from radiation.
Ensures all appropriate health and safety measures are taken when dealing with patients bodily fluids.
