Job summary

Marlin Environmental Services is seeking a Specialist Cleaning Technician in Plymouth. This full-time role focuses on hands-on cleaning, servicing and maintenance across a range of systems and facilities, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will operate vacuum tankers and high-pressure washers, perform tasks across tanks, bilges, and ventilation systems, and support other trades while representing the company on client sites. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience starting up and shutting down vacuum tankers and hot pressure washers.
• Knowledge of pumping liquid/waste between ship and shore.
• Solid understanding of Confined Space working and MAR pack procedures.
• Familiarity with cleaning standards: Survey, Hot Work, and Preservation.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out specialist cleaning, servicing and repairs across systems and facilities.
• Tackling tanks, bilges, compartments and ventilation systems with precision and professionalism.
• Using high-pressure jet washers and vacuum tankers to keep systems operating safely.
• Maintaining compliance with Health & Safety, Waste Management and environmental regulations.
• Working in confined spaces using proper PPE and safety procedures.
• Completing paperwork accurately and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Supporting other trades and undertaking fire sentry duties when required.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days look the same. You’ll be:

• Carrying out specialist cleaning, servicing and repairs across a wide range of systems and facilities
• Tackling tanks, bilges, compartments and ventilation systems with precision and professionalism
• Using high-pressure jet washers and vacuum tankers to keep systems operating safely
• Maintaining strict compliance with Health & Safety, Waste Management and environmental regulations
• Working in confined spaces using the correct PPE and safety procedures
• Completing all paperwork accurately and ensuring customer satisfaction every time
• Supporting other trade groups and undertaking fire sentry duties when required
• Representing Marlin on customer sites with the highest standards of cleanliness and conduct

What You Bring

You’re someone who knows their way around specialist equipment and understands the importance of safe working practices. Ideally, you have:
