At Children's Speech and Language Therapy in West Essex, you’ll be part of the award-winning Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, where we’re leading the way with an innovative, integrated partnership model in collaboration with Barnardo’s. Recognised nationally and presented to government and local authorities, our approach puts more time and people into frontline services — improving outcomes for children and families across the community.
As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, you’ll provide direct support to children and young people, their families, and other service users. You’ll work closely with colleagues across our Pre-Birth to 19 Team and Specialist Children’s Services, including our pioneering JADES pathway for autism assessment and early support. You’ll also collaborate with partners in health, education, and social care to help children overcome communication barriers and achieve their full potential.
This is a full-time position based at our Tree House Family Hub location in Harlow.

Holds a recognised degree or postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, with current HCPC registration and RCSLT membership.
Has a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, with specialist knowledge of assessment and intervention for children with speech, language, and communication needs.
Demonstrates evidence of continued professional development, including relevant post-graduate training and participation in Clinical Excellence Networks.
Understands local and national policies, particularly those related to child protection, education, and children’s health services.
Confidently manages their own caseload and works effectively across a range of client groups and settings.
Brings experience in delivering and developing training for carers and professionals.
Possesses strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Adaptable and well-organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively and respond to changing needs in a fast-paced service.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist you’ll be working as part of the NHS in West Essex where we deliver community health services to children and young people aged 0-19. This post is for a candidate who wishes to work predominantly with school aged children.
