A healthcare provider in Wales is seeking an enthusiastic Dietitian to join their Paediatric diabetes team. This part-time role involves managing a clinical caseload of children and young people with diabetes, providing structured dietary education, and training other professionals. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing dietary interventions specific to diabetes and a registered Dietitian qualification. Flexibility in work hours is available.
The post holder will support the provision of structured education across the health board sites and hold a clinical case load of children and young people with diabetes. The post holder will work as a specialist children's diabetes dietitian and an integral member of the Children's Diabetes Service, managing a complex caseload of children and young people and supporting others to work effectively with children, young people and their families with diabetes. They will use specialist dietetic knowledge and skills: assessing, planning, implementing treatment and delivering dietetic interventions in a variety of settings including community, outpatient, and hospital and group settings in line with the needs of the patient, their family and carers. Provide education, training and expert support to develop the knowledge and skills of others working with children, young people and families in relation to the effective dietary management of diabetes. Contribute to the work of dietetic and children's diabetes services, actively participating in development, evaluation and improvement work, and the implementation of policy, guidance and standards.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Applicants would be supported to develop their competencies required to fulfil the role up to a 24 month period. Following successful completion and successful attainment of the skills and competencies for the role, the post holder will then be paid at Band 6 (minimum point on the scale).
Failure to achieve the competencies in the designated time frame could result in re-deployment.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Dietitian to join Hywel Dda Paediatric diabetes team, in its endeavours to improve and empower children and young people living with diabetes. The post is a permanent position, part time (18.75 hours/week) and would be suited to a highly motivated Dietitian who has some knowledge and experience of working within diabetes and/or paediatric dietetics.
