Hours of work: Full time 39 hours, Part time 19.5 hours a week and Relief
Location of role: St Helens, Merseyside
The Role
The Meadows is a new residential provision that focusses on supporting children who have been in a specialised secure environment. The service offer is a psychologically informed, therapeutic environment to support young people to move from a model of physical security to relational security.
The service will provide three components: Residential Care, Education Offer and Health Offer.
The Successful Applicant:
We are currently recruiting for Specialist Childcare Workers who will be responsible for providing outstanding care to the children and young people, treating them with dignity and respect.
As a Specialist Care Worker, you must be optimistic and compassionate about the care you provide, promoting good childcare practices through the provision of a caring environment for the children in accordance with the home’s statement of purpose and function, and in line with Nugent’s core values. Delivering care that is formulation driven: to participate in the development of psychological formulations based on trauma and adverse childhood understandings that inform and direct care provision.
To support young people to be kept safe through the relationships they form with staff, rather than physical restrictions. To use models of complex relational care, in order to prepare young people for progression to fulfilling adult lives. Showing ambition and integrity in your interactions with the young people, as they are all individuals.
The successful candidates will have a Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People’s workforce or equivalent or a willingness to work towards this, which will be funded via an accredited Apprenticeship.
